PASTORALIA IN 01
A speculative garden based on 3D scans and prints of flowers that performs as a still-life installation.
Pastorally refers to a vision and sensation of nature which is “basic” or “simple”, quite and harmonious. These desired visions drove the Dutch still life flower painters in their iconic compositions. The flower representation served an artistic vision therefore was far from being authentic. It didn’t documented what was, it defined what was desired.
Following still life art forms Pastoralia in 01 project uses 3d scans and 3d prints to from still life garden. In the capturing process some of the physical information was lost or distorted dues generating “digital specie” an imperfect copy, not driven by a human fantasy like in still life visions but from the current limitations of technology which generate new form of esthetics rich in seductive deformations.
