Sinsaney Porcelain

The date palm tree is a central part of levant material culture and symbolism. The objects in this group of work investigate the wild forms, structures, sensuality and symbols of the palm tree.  By deconstructing it and placing it in a hybrid context using bone china porcelain I wished to explore local material tensions and poetics presented by Israel immigrant society and multi layered cultural history where native and forien are ere experience simultaneously as two coexisting social status
